Sunday , 20.08.17 - 7:00 pm

Program:
Isaac Albéniz: »Suite española« op. 47 (Excerpts)
Joaquín Rodrigo: Concierto de Aranjuez
Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga: Sinfonía a gran orquesta

The Orquestra de Cadaqués was founded in Catalonia in 1988 and quickly achieved international recognition thanks to the quality and commitment of its musicians. Under the baton of Jaime Martín, its principal conductor, the orchestra and its Mediterranean temperament will enchant with Spanish flair during the Palace Music Festival in Jever. Isaac Albéniz’ »Suite española« acts as musical travel guide that leafs through the cultural diversity of regional traditions, and Joaquín Rodrigo’s atmospheric »Concierto de Aranjuez« has today become practically a synonym for Spanish music. Soloist Pablo Sáinz Villegas, one of the world’s leading classical guitarists, embodies the soul of the Spanish guitar in the song-like quality of sound and his immaculate technique. The programme will be completed with the symphony of Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, known as the »Spanish Mozart«, who died at the age of 19 in 1826. Give into the seduction of the rich musical heritage of the Iberian Peninsula during the open-air performance on the Schlossplatz!
