Program:
»Summertime«: Pieces of George Gershwin u. a.

It must be permissible to call summit meetings just that — and when Dee Dee Bridgewater, Kurt Elling and the Metropole Orkest come together on the same stage, then what »The Guardian« calls the »world’s largest pop and jazz orchestra« meets two of the most versatile, expressive and successful voices of the American jazz world. Whether racing scat acrobatics, finely nuanced vocalisations or sensitive ballads, the captivating stage presence of these two performers communicates the power of joie de vivre, sadness or melancholy of their interpretations directly to their audiences. Backed by the lush, sonorous sound of the Metropole Orkest, the two full-blood entertainers will make Gershwin’s songs their own and eloquently perform works from their own repertoires arranged especially for this large orchestra — presented perfectly and elegantly, yet full of surprising twists and turns!
