Programme:
Ignacy Feliks Dobrzynski: Overture in D major op. 1
Frédéric Chopin: Piano Concertos No. 1 in E minor op. 11 and No. 2 in F minor op. 21
After shining in Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto at the closing concert of the 2021 Musikfest, Yulianna Avdeeva was praised last year for her piano recital with works by Chopin and Rachmaninov. Once again, the winner of the 2010 Warsaw Chopin Competition confirmed her status as one of the most sought-after interpreters of the French-Polish composer. It was only natural then to invite the Moscw-born and Munich-based pianist to perform his two piano concertos. And Yulianna Avdeeva will present them on a restored Erard grand piano from 1837, corresponding to the instruments that Chopin himself knew and played. Her already released recording shows how the pianist knows how to transfer her excellent technique and masterly art of interpretation to the fortepiano. In the delicately balanced interaction with the period instrument Orchestra of the 18th Century, subtle differentiations in articulation, phrasing and dynamics allow you to discover Chopin's piano concertos in a whole new way!
