Programme:
»Hans and Greta«: adaptation for children aged six and older for three singers, accordion and violin based on Engelbert Humperdinck's »Hansel and Gretel«.
Founded in 2004, the Taschenoper Lübeck has dedicated itself entirely to the motto »Great opera for little people« and successfully demonstrates how children and young people can be captivated by music theatre in a playful way. After »The Magic Game - A Magic Flute« was on the programme at the Musikfest Bremen last year, the ensemble are now showcasing »Hans and Greta« - a child-friendly adaptation of the famous fairy-tale opera »Hansel and Gretel« by Engelbert Humperdinck. Of course, Taschenoper Lübeck presents Grimm's fairy tale in a somewhat different, modern version in which the very young audience is included and even the most complicated processes are presented in a way that is easy to understand. And of course the audience can sing along with classics such as »Suse, liebe Suse« or »Ein Männlein steht im Walde«. In any case, the Lübecker Nachrichten were won over by the premiere: »›Hans and Greta‹ was full-bodied, colourful and sensuous children's theatre that did not overstretch even the smallest visitors and provided a lot of fun and joy [...]. A complete success.«
