PROGRAMME CHANGE:
After overcoming a covid illness, Hilary Hahn is still recovering and very much regrets having to postpone the premiere of the new concerto »Labyrinthe du temps« by Aziza Sadikova to a later date due to lost preparation time. The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and conductor Omer Meir Wellber will instead perform Symphony No. 1 in E-flat major K. 16 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as the first item on the programme after the pause.

Programme:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Overture from »Don Giovanni« K. 527, Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major K. 219 and Symphony No. 1 in E-flat major K. 16 (instead of the originally announced premiere of Aziza Sadikova's Concerto for violin and accordion »Labyrinthe du temps«)
Franz Schubert: Symphony No. 2 in B flat major D 125

Three-time Grammy winner Hilary Hahn and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen have had a closely association for many years and have performed together countless times – and now finally for the first time at the Musikfest Bremen! They have also already recorded Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 together. But this performance will be anything but routine! The American star violinist emphasises that new, unconventional interpretations of repertoire standards such as Mozart are only possible with an ensemble she has known for a long time and with whom she has already tried out many different approaches to interpretation. And the world premiere of the double concerto for violin and accordion by Uzbek composer Aziza Sadikova means anything but routine for Hilary Hahn and the orchestra. The accordion solo part will be played by conductor Omer Meir Wellber himself, who began his musical training on the piano and accordion at the age of five in his Israeli hometown of Be'er Sheva.
