The Tölzer Knabenchor, founded in 1956 by Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden, is one of the world’s most famous boys' choirs. The universally celebrated »Tölzer Sound« is characterised by an exceptional homogeneity, brilliant highs, precise intonation and clear articulation. With a programme mixing the sacred and the secular , the choir can show off all its qualities in Löningen. A trademark of the Tölzer Knabenchor is the Three Boys in Mozart's »Magic Flute«. For decades, the world’s most illustrious opera and festival houses have cast the tercet with soloists from Tölz, from the Bavarian State Opera to the Vienna State Opera and the Opéra National de Paris to La Scala in Milan and the Salzburg Festival. Excerpts from this opera are therefore just as important to the programme as Carl Orff's dance songs, which have also been an integral part of the choir's repertoire for years. You can look forward to musical fireworks with these legendary heavenly voices, which are sure to resonate for a long time to come …
