The award-winning harpsichordist, organist and conductor Andrea Marcon and »his« La Cetra Barockorchester Basel have been internationally renowned and in demand for their carefully crafted programmes for years. In »Musica veneziana« they bring to life the splendour that emanated from the lagoon city at the transition from the Renaissance to the Baroque. Central are three motets by Alessandro Grandi, Tarquinio Merula and Antonio Vivaldi, which radiate a timelessly expressive modernity with their poignancy. In addition, scores of three Vivaldi concertos and works by Dario Castello, Biagio Marini and Bernardo Storace are just waiting to be brought to life by Andrea Marcon and La Cetra in gripping, contemporary interpretations. Then the magic of Venice can be experienced at first hand in Rhede’s Old Church through a world of music brimming with vivid emotions and Mediterranean sensuality!
