The Ricercar Consort, founded by Philippe Pierlot, has had an excellent international reputation for years, especially for German baroque cantatas and instrumental music. In Grasberg, they will present a vocal-instrumental programme that - in parts including the Schnitger organ - traces the North German composers who were formative for Johann Sebastian Bach. Franz Tunder was organist at St. Marien in Lübeck. Amongst other achievements, his successor Dieterich Buxtehude is famed for bringing the organ prelude to its zenith here. Around the same time, Johann Adam Reincken was organist at St. Catherine's Church in Hamburg. Famous throughout Europe, people travelled from far and wide to learn from them - including Bach. His Prelude in B minor is one of his most performed major organ works, whereas the technically very demanding cantatas »Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut« and »Non sa che sia dolore« are heard less often. Together as one with the harmonious sound of the Ricercar Consort, the Swedish-Irish soprano Maria Keohane will make them shine with refined diction and striking sensitivity!
