The Swiss baritone Äneas Humm is one of the most promising young talents on the international classical music scene. Born in 1995, he graduated from the Hochschule für Künste Bremen and the Juilliard School New York. Engagements followed at the theatres of Weimar, Karlsruhe and St. Gallen; his debuts at the Hamburg State Opera, the Theater an der Wien and the Lucerne Festival are coming up. In addition to opera, he enjoys great success as a Lied singer. With his warm, lean and flawless voice, his remarkably thoughtful interpretations beautifully highlight both the nuances of the words and meaning of the text. In 2018, he received the Förderpreis Deutschlandfunk at the Musikfest Bremen and in October 2022 he was awarded the Opus Klassik for Young Singer of the Year for his album »Embrace«. The Hawaiian-born pianist Renate Rohlfing is his truly equal partner in dialogue. Together they will present songs by Franz Liszt, Richard Strauss and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy as well as by the latter's sister Fanny Hensel - insightful miniatures that revolve around multifaceted themes such as love, comfort, heartbreak and longing.
