The Beethoven Cycle at Musikfest Bremen 2020

The Beethoven anniversary year 2020 is approaching fast! The Musikfest Bremen is celebrating the 250th Birthday of the great musical revolutionary with a special project: his complete symphony cycle. The nine symphonies Beethoven wrote over 24 years heralded a new era in music history and continue to hold a special status to this day. And who better to perform them than the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and their chief conductor Paavo Järvi? They have been causing a sensation since 2004 with their recordings of the complete symphonies based on the new urtext edition. Experts around the word have heaped praises on the release of the “Bremen Beethoven”, as “a magnificent update with timeless allure” (Spiegel Online) and “by far the most exciting Beethoven recording of the 21st century” (Die Zeit). Its status as the new standard recording has been confirmed by numerous national and international accolades, including several ECHO Klassik awards and the Certificate of Honour of the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik (German record critics’ award). From 18 to 22 November 2020, you can experience the nine symphonies for the first time in Die Glocke with the Bremen Beethoven specialists conducted by Paavo Järvi on four evenings in chronological order!

From 9 December to 9 January 2020, pre-sales are limited to the complete cycle, offering all interested parties the attractive opportunity to book the same seats for all four concerts at a reduced subscription price. Individual ticket sales open on 9 January 2020 at 10am (subject to availability) at the regular rates.
